Virtual New Zealand has been informing people about New Zealand since 1997. Since then, the website has disseminated hundreds of millions of images of New Zealand to the world and provides useful information for overseas visitors planning their trip to New Zealand. Helpful tools include, maps, news, weather, facts, statistics, shopping, and travel services. Virtual New Zealand is part of the Virtual Oceania group of websites.

Virtual New Zealand profits from selling licenses to print or use our images of New Zealand. If you are interested in licensing our quality images for use in printing, TV, Web, CD or Corporate presentation, then visit the licensing page.

The images in this website were taken using a Nikon SLR using Fuji Velvia professional/slide film. These slides have been digitized using a high-end scanner that creates files of 600 dpi, 7000 x 5000 pixels, and 100 megs in size which is beyond what most digital cameras provide today.

The Virtual Oceania website is hosted using Open Source solutions including:
