The Great Australian Bight is a large open bay, off the central and western portion of Australia's southern coastline. It is renown for its high cliffs (up to 60 m high), huge surf, surf beaches, and natural viewing platforms for whale watching. It is pounded by the Great Southern Ocean and has a large shark population.
