The Melbourne Recital Centre won the National Award for Public Buildings at the 2009 Property Council of Australia Rider Levett Bucknall Awards for Innovation and Excellence. It is Melbourne's second largest auditorium for classical music (after Hamer Hall in The Arts Centre).
