Coffs Harbour in central New South Wales is a popular stopover for travellers due to it being one days drive from Sydney as you head north to Brisbane.
The city is worth visiting as it has some great beaches and it is also a haven for diving due to a convergence of tropical and temperate currents.
Coffs Harbour is also a great place to explore the Great Dividing Range as it comes closest to the coastline here than anywhere else in Australia. There are many great treks in the hilly rainforested terrain that afford great views of the coastline and city below.
