Port Douglas is an hour north of Cairns and conveniently located near the World Heritage areas of the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Situated along one Australia's most scenic coastal routes, the town has a spectacular beach called Four Mile Beach which is a destination its own right. Nearby Dickson Inlet on the other side of town has a marina and a protected harbour with views toward the Coral Sea and a backdrop of rainforested mountains.
