Stawell is a town in the Wimmera region in the Australian state of Victoria. It is conveniently located near the spectacular Grampians National Park making it the place to stock up for supplies when travelling to the Grampians or for accomodation and dining.
Stawell is also located less than one hours drive to Ballarat, Victoria's third largest city
Like other towns and cities in the area, there is a historical association with gold-mining, except that gold mining resumed in 1981 and is still active today.
