This Victorian era building is part of the history of New Plymouth. For example, highwayman Robert Wallath in 1893, walked into the White Hart and robbed the barman at gunpoint, then rode off on his horse with the cash and a bottle of whisky. He even fired a shot as he rode past the local police station.
