The Government Gardens in Rotorua were created in the 189. Originally a scrub covered geothermal area, it was transformed into a into an area of Art Deco and Edwardian buildings, surrounded by Japanese firs, Elegans, and even an unusual looking Sequoia (Californian Redwood. Public heated pools and baths remain even to this days.
