In November 2016, a 7.8 earthquake struck the seaside town of Kaikoura. While this town is hundreds of kilometres away from Wellington, it was still widely felt in the capital city. Some significant damage was reported in the wharf area and a number of buildings in the CBD. Pictured is the Deloitte building that was demolished due to being at risk of collapse. |
