Lifeguards patrol Oriental Bay Beach during summer. The beach is popular with tourists as it is the closest one to the city centre. There are many cafes behind the beach and a number of scenic walks offering views of the harbour. You can walk up to Mount Victoria lookout from the Southern Walkway which starts near here.
