Located in the South Pacific and Oceania, New Caledonia lies east of Australia in the coral sea, the same sea that Australia's Great Barrier Reef resides. New Caledonia also has large areas of coral reefs. The islands above are tropical and the weather is mainly affected by southeast trade winds.
