Eua Island is made from limestone (uplifted coral) at the island's base with volcanic soil deposited from nearby volcanic eruptions. One side of the island has tall cliffs due to volcanic uplift, and lowland sandy beaches and coral gardens on the opposite coast.
The volcanic soil is fertile allowing a myriad of plants to grow. Due to a low population, the island is covered in tropical rainforests and tropical plants with some plantations and exotic forests for crops.
