The Eastcoast of the North Island is famous for it's beautiful beaches and
sunny climate. The Cape as it is affectionately known is the first part of
New Zealand that a European set foot on, yet it remains one of the most isolated
areas of the North Island today. Gisborne the biggest town has many great
beaches and as you head further north on the Pacific Highway, you will see
many other wide sweeping bays with white sand and steep cliffs.
