Information
Ocean Beach is a popular beach in the Hastings District of Hawkes Bay. It has a long stretch of quality sand and big waves, but there is also has a strong rip. It is a popular beach for both swimmers and surfers. The beach is patrolled through the summer months.

Ocean Beach has an unnamed river that flows into the beach. It creates a lagoon or pool of water in the sand that you can swim in.

Ocean Beach View photoBehind the beach is a grassy plain called Haupouri Flats which is mainly farmland. Behind these flats is a steep hill that contains the unsealed road going down to the beach. Although there is a small community here, there are no shops.
