Wellington Street View

This is Whitmore Street with the round building the 'Beehive' (New Zealand's parliament building) in view. Navigate toward the Beehive but take the first left into Lambton Quay, the busiest shopping strip in New Zealand. Access to the Cable Car is on Lambton Quay. Behind is Parliament Buildings where the government is located. Lambton Quay use to be the coastline in 1840 and all land to the left has since been reclaimed. See if you can navigate your way to Courtney Place and check out the restaurants and bars here. After that, go to Oriental bay to see great views of the beach and harbour. To see one of the best views in Wellington, look for Carlton Gore Road off Oriental Bay and head up to Mt Victoria Lookout. It will be signposted. If you get lost, use the map above to help you.
